Wing Commander Douglas Carson Riding 177 & Warrant Officer Robert Douglas Clarke 1831 AFM (Air Force Medal) were killed in the loss of RAAF Beaufighter aircraft A19-46 of Number 31 Squadron at sea off Cape Batoe Poetih, Timor Island

 

Both men are commemorated on the Northern Territory Memorial to the Missing located at Adelaide River War Cemetery, NT
