Alton Neil Goulburn ROBINSON was born on 19th September, 1922 at Gulgong, New South Wales
His parents were John William ROBINSON & Irene Vera BUCHANAN who married in 1913 (reg. in Merriwa, NSW)
He enlisted in Sydney on 26th May, 1942 with the Royal Australian Air Force
Alton died in a Flying Battle on 2nd February, 1945 as the Pilot of a Lancaster Bomber which flew over Karlsruhe in the Siegfried defences and was unable to reach its home base - the entire crew lost their lives
He is buried in the Clichy Northern Cemetery, Plot 16, Row 10, Grave 2 and his name is memorialised on the Australian War Memorial and the Roll of Honour in Mudgee, NSW
Inscription on his headstone reads:
'A BRAVE, NOBLE LIFE, EVER REMEMBERED BY LOVING FAMILY, MUDGEE, AUSTRALIA"
