Sidney was born in Stanmore in 1886 under the surname ROSENTHALL

His parents were Maurice/Morris ROSENTHALL & Rebecca Rachel HYAM who married Great Sydney on 25th August, 1875

He married Dorothy ALTMAN on 30th August, 1914 in London - 4 known children, Arthur, Beryl, Ruth & Marian

He was in England at the start of WW1 and enlisted there in 1914 as a Field Medical Officer in the Royal Army Medical Corp & served with the British Army in the Middle East for nearly 6 years

He enlisted in Paddington, Sydney on 10th March, 1941 to serve during WW2  and died of Illness at Concord Military Hospital of Coronary Arterial Sclerosis on 1st February, 1946 and is buried in the Sydney War Cemetery (part of Rookwood Cemetery) - his last rank was Major in the Australian Army Medical Corp
