Sergeant Ryan 403149 in Kittyhawk AL145 of 3SQN was killed when his aircraft was shot down / hit by flak north-west of El Adem on his third bombing / strafing mission of the day - his body was not recovered and he is commemorated on the Alamein Memorial, Egypt
