Son of Alfred Frederick and Ellen Annie Self, of Gaythorne, Queensland, Australia.
Sergeant Observer Keith Robert Self, third son of Mrs. E. Self, of Gnythornc, and the late Mr Fred Self, was killed in an aircraft accident in Nova Scotia whilst completing his training in Canada. Sergeant Self, who was formerly employed by the Queensland Railways, was a nephew of Mr Colin Bingham, formerly of the staff of "The Telegraph,"

Sergeant Keith Robert Self 425367 RAAF of Number 34 Operational Training Unit RCAF was killed when Ventura AE878 crashed near Springhaven in Nova Scotia, Canada
Also killed were Sergeant John Edward Franckeiss 1525643 RAF and Sergeant Kenneth George Calvert R/144389 RCAF
