Flight Lieutenant Leigh Rule 400491 & Flying Officer Kenneth Ernest Sparkes 443510 were killed when Mosquito MK6 A52-501 of Number 1 Squadron disintegrated in the air and crashed during local flying at the Kingaroy Bombing Range - the probable cause was overstressing of the fuselage.
