Flight Lieutenant Theodore William John Speet 412206 was the pilot of Number 1 Squadron RAAF Beaufort aircraft A9-593 which crashed after take-off from Gould Field, NT - he was the only fatality; the rest of the crew survived with varying injuries: Flying Officer Eric William Hadley Wood 417985 / Warrant Officer Robert Brough 414621 / Flying Officer Evan Frederick Klemm 414241
