Tasman Foskett SWINNEY was born on 6th March, 1909 in North Sydney, NSW
His parents were Herbert Augustus SWINNEY and Ida Beatrice FOSKETT
He first joined up with the Citizens Naval Forces in 1927 (Service No. S6380)
On 28th February, 1942 he enlisted with the Royal Australian Air Force - his last posting was a Pilot Officer with the 27 Operational Training Unit
Tasman died on 10th September, 1943 in an aircraft accident in a Wellington Bomber over the Thames - he is buried in Chester (Blacon) Cemetery, Section A, Grave 459 and also commemorated on the Australian War Memorial and the Roll of Honour in Cremorne, Sydney, NSW

Mrs. A. L BUDDs son killed in Flying Accident
Word was received in Murwillumbah yesterday that Pilot Officer Tasman Swinney, stepson and son respectively of Mr. & Mrs. A. E. Budd had been killed in a flying accident over the River Thames last Friday. He was the only son of Mrs. Budd.
It will be recalled that Mr. Budd received word a couple of weeks ago that his youngest son, Flying Officer Hamilton Budd had been killed in a fight between a U boat and a Sunderland flying boat of which he was one of the crew

AIRMAN KILLED IN ACCIDENT
Pilot Officer Tasman F Swinney, R.A.A.F. has been reported killed in an accident in England on Sept. 10. Before enlisting he was on the staff of Dalgety & Company Ltd. and was president of the Juinior Chamber of Commerce. He was the only son of the late Mr. H.A. Swinney and Mrs. A.E. Budd of Cremorne.
