During 1902c Thomas married Elspeth Irene Kitchen in Victoria. Address at the time of enlistment was Park Street, St. Kilda, Victoria and was employed as an Accoutant with the Melbourne Dental Hospital.
17 November 1915 - enlisted at Melbourne with the Dental Corps and Honorary rank of Lieutenant
Commenced return to Australia on 19 April 1918 aboard SS Carmania via America and at his own expense
18 June 1918 - discharged at the 3rd Military District with the Honorary rank of Captain.
