Gilbert WADDINGTON stated that he was born in Manchester, England on 7th November, 1901 although his birth is registered in 1899

His parents were David WADDINGTON & Margaret Alice GORTON who married in England in 1886 (registered in Bury)

He married Kathleen Hughina DAVIS in Sydney in 1926

Gilbert (known as Bert) WADDINGTON previously served in the British Army Service Corps, during the final year of WW1.  He was awarded the British War Medal and the Victory Medal for his service.

Bert and his wife Kathleen (known as Ena) had 2 children together, both of whom are now deceased.
