Flight Lieutenant Gordon Horace White 406121 of 78SQN RAAF was killed when Kittyhawk A29-570 crashed in the Sagan region in Dutch New Guinea - his body was not recovered and he is commemorated on the Lae Memorial
He previously served with 3SQN in North Africa and he has an entry in the book "Those Other Eagles" by Christopher Shores
