Son of Percy Robert Turner Wills and Lister Victoria Wills, of Brisbane, Queensland.
Private Richard L Wills, son of Mr. P.R.T. Wills, Commissioner for Railways, and Mrs. Wills, was at the Brisbane Boy's School during the years 1937-39. He left school to become a student at the Gatton Agricultural College, but later on obtained a position on the reporting staff of the 'Courier Mail', and in that capacity visited the College from time to time to report various College functions. Like his two brothers, Capt. J.M. Wills and Capt. K.R. Wills he enlisted in the A.I.F. and saw service with the 2/9 Battalion of the 6th Division when in New Guinea. By March 1943, he had been twice in that country and subsequently returned to take part in the Famu Valley campaign. Unfortunately he took ill and ided at Shaggy Ridge in the Valley on the 6th February 1944. An Old Collegian, Dr. W. Arrowsmith was with him in his illness. To his parents and brothers, all staunch supporters of the College, we express our deepest sympathy.
