Squadron Leader (Chaplain) Gordon Gladstone Wood attached to RAAF Overseas Headquarters London was killed by a V1 Flying Bomb
The Uniting Church in Wellington, NSW dedicated the Gordon Gladstone Wood Memorial Chapel in his honour “this chapel was dedicated to the memory of Gordon Gladstone Wood superintendent minister of this church 1937 - 1940 as a tribute of esteem by the Methodist people of Wellington & district”

Gordon Gladstone WOOD was born on 24th June, 1901 in Moonta, South Australia
His parents were Alfred WOOD & Janet WEMYSS
He married Gwendoline Enid STAPLES in Sydney, NSW in 1928
Gordon died on 18th June 1944 and is buried in the Brookwood Military Cemetery in England
