Francis Gilbert COWELL was born in Edenhope, Victoria in 1880
His parents were Arthur Alexander COWELL & Jessie Lennox HAMILTON
Francis died on 25th November, 1901 from Enteric Fever and is buried in the Deelfontein Cemetery, grave 97, South Africa

His brother Henry Lennox COWELL served with both the New Zealand Contingent in the Boer War and the Australian forces
He was Killed in Action at Gallipoli in 1915
