Thomas Flint served twice in the South African (Boer) War, first as a Private S.N. 279 in the 3rd Queensland Imperial Bushmen, and second as a Private S.N. 648 in the 6th Imperial Bushmen. He was killed in action during his second serviceon 3 Feb 1902. Newspaper reports originally indicated he was taken prisoner, along with one other of his unit, and executed, however later reports indicate he was killed in action.
