George Given FORSYTH was born in Queensland on 12th June, 1880
His parents were William FORSYTH & Martha Jane GIVEN
He contracted measles on board the troop ship St Andrew while returning home from the Boer War & on arrival he was admitted to the Brisbane Hospital on 30th April, 1902 and died on 3rd May, 1902
His parents were expecting him home & preparing a welcome but were not informed that he had been taken to hospital & didn't find out until he was unconscious.
He was given a full Military Funeral & buried in an unmarked Grave in Toowong Cemetery - many years later a bronze plaque was erected on his grave
