MOUNT GAMBIER.
(From our own Correspondent)
March 9.
Trooper Frederick William Hirth, who died in the Kroonstad Hospital on February 27, of enteric fever, was the fourth son of Mr. and Mrs. William Hirth, of Mount Gambier, farmer. He left here in February last year as a member of the Fifth South Australian Contingent, and with his corps saw a good deal of active service during the twelve months he was with them. He was a strong, active young fellow of 22 years. He seems to have been ill about a fortnight.
