Thomas Peter Mohan was the son of Phillip and Jane Mohan (nee Shillito). He was born in Melbourne in 1871. Tom was serving in Victoria's Permanent Artillery. He volunteered to serve overseas. Tom was enlisted as a Victorian Imperial Bushmen Corporal. For he could ride and shoot. Tom was subsequently promoted in the field to the rank of Sergeant. However, like many Boer War soldiers, he succumbed to disease. Tom is memorialized on his family plot's headstone in Melbourne. Lest We Forget.
