"3112702 Lance Corporal John Noel McCarthy, A Squadron 3rd Cavalry Regiment Age 23 from East Malvern VIC. Died 12th June 1971, whilst driving an Armoured Personnel Carrier, "Tango Alpha 84 Bravo" in the Phuoc Tuy - Long Khanh Province border area during Operation "Overlord".
