Astley Chavard ARVIER was born in Bardon, Brisbane, Queensland on 30th May, 1919

His parents were Frederick August Chavard ARVIER & Violet Jessie WATSON

He married Alison Ruth BERRY on 29th September, 1951 in the Kalinga Presbyterian Church

He enlisted in the Army as a Lieutenant on 15th July, 1940 in Kelvin Grove with the 2nd/10th Field Artillery Regiment - he became a prisoner of war in Borneo and eventually returned to Australia and was discharged on 14th December, 1945 with the rank of Captain

Astley died in the Bethseda Caring Centre in Corinda, Queensland on 6th June 1997
