Elwyn Glyndwr BAKER was born on 14th January 1920 in Monmouthshire, Wales, United Kingdom
His parents were George & Margaretta BAKER - He was married to Vera Louise BAKER of Bundaberg, Queensland.
Elwyn first joined the Australian Army on 27th January, 1943 in Brisbane with the 3rd Battalion Volunteer Defence Corp. (Queensland) and was discharged on 25th Nov. 1943.
He then enlisted on 5th Nov. 1943 in Brisbane with the Royal Australian Air Force - posting on death was 22 Squadron and he was a Flight Sergeant. Service No. Q202125
Elwyn died an an aircraft accident during a non- operational test flight off the coast of Moratai & is buried in the Ambon War Cemetery, Ambon, Maluku, Indonesia - Grave Ref. 28 D 10

WAR CASUALTY
Mrs. E. G. Baker, 34 Curtis St, Bundaberg has been advissed that her husband, Flight Sergeant Elwyn G Baker lost his life on July 18 during a non operational test flight off the coast of Moratai. He was the youngest son of Mrs. & Mrs. G Baker of Brisbane and at the time of his enlistment was employed on the staff of Mars Machine Tool Pty. Ltd. Brisbane He leaves a baby daughter Coralie.
