Corporal Robert Bramwell Boughen (Service No:Q155665) enlisted in the ACMF on 26 May 1942 and was attached to 1 Australian LoC Signals (PMG) when he was Discharged on 17 January 1945.
Born in 1905 in Runcorn QLD, Robert was the youngest of three children of Edward Boughen (b1863 in Ipswich, QLD) and Elizabeth Heiner (b1865 in Brisbane, QLD). Edward (a Carpenter) and Elizabeth married in 1889 in Marburg, QLD and lived at Rosewood and Runcorn where Elizabeth died in 1906. Edward remarried in Laidley QLD in 1912 to Agnes Ellen Carlson (nee Newman; b1865 in Wiltshire, England) - Agnes was a Widow with seven children. Edward and Agnes lived at Forest Hill on the Darling Downs where Edward was a Carpenter before settling in Southport, QLD where Edward was a Farmer.
Robert worked as a Mail Officer in Brisbane QLD and in 1928 married Emily Gertrude Davies (b1906 in Brisbane, QLD). Robert and Emily settled in Brisbane where Robert was a Mail Officer. Following Emily's death in 1948 Robert remarried in the early 1950s to Eileen Alice Pickering (b1905 in Bundaberg, QLD) - Eileen was a Waitress in Brisbane. Robert and Eileen settled in Brisbane, where Robert became a Commonwealth Customs Officer. He died in 1986 and Eileen in 1990.
