Able Seaman Norman Byrne served with the New Zealand Forces in the Great War, and with the Australian Imperial Force during WWII.
Whilst serving with New Zealand Forces in the Great War he was awarded a Military Medal. Details of his service in this conflict can be found via the NZ Service Record link to the left.
He served with the Allied Transport Service.
He was 49 and the son of John and Margaret Byrne.
