Alexander Douglas Crawford (late of Norman Park) died on the 29th of March 1999 - Death notice in the Courier Mail (Brisbane)

Enlisted in July 1930 and in April 1936 he was commissioned from Sergeant to Lieutenant - his wartime service number was QX6014

He was taken prisoner during the Greek campaign and was in POW camps in Germany until liberated from Colditz in May 1945

After WW2 he served with the BCOF in Japan (service number 1/8042) and was discharged in 1949

He re-joined and was promoted to Major in 1951 (service number 1/10482)
