Mrs. Edward Makeham, of Colin street, West Perth, intends' leaving for Egypt about the end of June. She goes on a visit to relations, and will be much missed in Perth, where she has ever been ready to assist in all charitable work. The Rev. Edward Makeham, it will be remembered left as chaplain to our first batch of Light Horse.

The latest news about Major the Rev. Edward Makeham states that after ten days' leave spent with his wife in London he has returned to duty in the danger zone. Mrs. Makeham remains in London, where she is putting her usual energy into her work in a Red Cross Hospital. ​

The Rev. D. E. Makeham, O.B.E.. who died in England on November 9, was educated at the London College of Divinity. From 1900 to 1903 he was chaplain to the Missions to Seamen at Kobe. Japan, and in 1903 became rector of St. Mary's. West Perth, a position which he occupied until
1921. He served with the A.I.F. from1914 to 1921 and was mentioned in dispatches in 1916. He went to England in 1922 and was rector of Hedgerley, Buckinghamshire at the time of his death.
