Arthur Henry Edward BROOKER (3607) was a 19 year old single dairy farmer from Witta (Qld) when he enlisted in Brisbane (Qld) on the 28 June 1917. He listed as his next of kin, his Father, William Henry Brooker, Witton via Maleny, North Coast Line, Queensland. He embarked from Sydney, New South Wales, on board HMAT A14 Euripides on 31 October 1917 as a member of the 52nd Battalion, 10th Reinforcement. On 7 July 1918, he proceeded to the Western Front and was taken on strength of 49th Battalion. He returned to Australia 12 May 1919.
Edward O’BRIEN (1711) was a 20 year old single labourer when he enlisted in Rockhampton (Qld) on 10 January 1916. He listed as his next of kin, his Mother, Mrs Mary Elizabeth O'Brien, Alma Lane, Fitzroy Street, Rockhampton, Queensland. He was born in Staffordshire, England. He embarked from Sydney, New South Wales, on board SS Hawkes Bay on 20 April 1916 as a member of the 52nd Battalion, 2nd Reinforcement. After training in England he travelled to the Western Front. During this time he transferred to the 49th Battalion and was wounded in action. He returned to Australia 23 July 1919.
