According to a newspaper report Sergeant-Signaller Ernest Windsor Bell had represented Messrs. Herman Howse and Co., and Mr. F. J. Sweet, of Kent Street, Sydney, in the wheat districts of New South Wales. Dying of wounds at the age of almost 40, he had fought in Egypt and France, and left a wife and four children.
