Winifred was the seventh of eight children of Alfred Ernest Bradford (b1884 in Tannymorel, QLD) and Nellie Maude Francis (b1883 in Warwick, QLD). Alfred (a Farmer) and Nellie married in 1909 in Tannymorel, QLD. By 1912 Alfred and Nellie had moved to Killarney on the Darling Downs in QLD where they raised their family.
Winifred enlisted in the Australian Army Women's Services in April 1942 (Private; Service No:Q142155). In November 1942 Winifred married Noel Joseph King (b1913 in Gordonvale, QLD) - Noel was a Private (Service No:Q103089) attached to 14 Garrison Battalion VDC. Winifred served as an Ambulance Driver and was attached to 1 Ambulance Car Coy when she was Discharged in October 1943. Winifred was one of six members of her family who served in WWII - brothers Alfred Robert (Private; Service No:QX5988), Leonard Douglas (Sergeant; Service No:QX34166), Eric Charles (Private; Service No:QX37705), and Alan Hamilton (Warrant Officer; Service No:426494). Sister Helen Maude was a Munitions Worker and worked on aircraft repairs and assembly.
Winifred and Noel divorced and Winifred married Wilson Maller (b1909 in Pickanjinnie, QLD) in the early 1950s - Wilson served with the ACMF (Private; Service No:Q228647) in WWII. Winifred and Wilson settled in Pickanjinnie near Roma where Wilson was a Farmer. He died in 2002 and Winifred in 2017.
