Colin Dudley Molloy (Service Number: Q148382)

Private Colin Dudley Molloy (Service No:Q148382) enlisted in the Army in April 1942, and was attached to 14th Field Bakery Platoon when he was Discharged in December 1945. Brother Gordon Matthew Molloy (Service Nos/QX46919/Q108198) also served in WWII.

Born in 1923 in Ipswich QLD, Colin was the youngest of four children of Matthew (Matt) Molloy (b1889 in Newtown, Ipswich, QLD) and Ellen (Nellie) Jones (nee Phister, b1891 at Amberley, QLD). Matt (a Coal Miner) and Nellie married in 1920 in Ipswich, where they settled and raised their family and Matt was a Miner.

Colin was a Labourer in Ipswich when he enlisted in the ACMF. In 1950 he was working as a Labourer in Darra when he married Grace Henderson. Colin and Grace settled in Newtown in Ipswich, QLD where Colin was a Railways Employee until he retired in 1983. Colin died in 1989.
