Biography
He enlisted in the Army on 26 Feb 1942 at Brisbane, Queensland, Australia and was allocated the Service No: QX28259.
On 4 Mar 1942 he was taken on strength of 113 Convalescent Depot, of the Australian Army Medical Corps, at Redbank, Queensland and promoted to the rank of Acting Staff Sergeant.
On 7 Mar 1942 he embarked at Brisbane on board the SS "Canberra" bound for Port Moresby, New Guinea. He arrived in New Guinea on 17 Mar 1942.
On 18 Jun 1942 he was promoted to Staff Sergeant.
In May 1943 he returned to Australia on leave and returned to New Guinea after approx one month's leave.
On 15 July 1943 he was transferred to the Medical & Vet Stores Unit at Port Morseby, New Guinea. He was promoted to Acting Warrant Officer (Second Class) on 10 Sept 1943.
He left New Guinea on 29 Jan 1944 and returned to Australia and was attached to the Queensland Line of Communication Area Medical & Vet Stores Unit.
On 7 Mar 1944 He was appointed to the commissioned rank of Lieutenant.
He was discharged from the Army on 25 Jun 1946.
