Flight Sergeant Orr was the Wireless Operator / Air Gunner in 24 Squadron Wirraway aircraft A20-470 which was involved in a mid-air collision with Wirraway A20-473 near Townsville in June 1942 resulting in the death of Flight Sergeant Maxwell Kemp Russell 3670 from A20-473
FSGT Orr and the pilots of the two aircraft were able to parachute to safety but FSGT Russell was not so fortunate
