Enlsted and served under alias William Edward SPALDING

On the 19 August 1946 while residing at 34 Tyson Street, Ainilee, ACT he sign a Statuatory Declaration that the name he served under in WW1, William Edward Spalding was not is correct name and that his correct name was in fact William James Murphy.

Commenced return to Australia on 23 July 1919 aboard HMT Main disembarking on 15 October 1919
