404027 FSGT Lloyd George Stanley 404027 was a Wireless/Air Gunner aboard Consolidated Catalina Flying Boat Model 28-5MC when it was lost on a reconnaissance flight off Gasmata New Britain. Precise circumstanes of its loss are unknown, but all crew were presumed killed.
The Aircraft had been built in the USA. 11/03/42 Departed Elizabeth City, North Carolina.
23/03/42 Arrived Rathmines, NSW.
13/04/42 11 Squadron.
09/07/42 20 Squadron.
08/03/43 Aircraft lost approximately 30 miles south east of Gasmata, New Britain, while on a reconnaissance flight. The entire crew were presumed killed:
