Edward Henry Aldridge was born on 28 Jun 1880 at Charters Towers, Queensland, a son to Henry Aldridge and Harriet Aldridge (nee Phillips). On his enlistment with the 6th QIB in 1901 he noted his N.O.K. as his father Henry Aldridge at Mount Morgan, Queensland.
He married Mary Ann Richardson on 26 Mar 1903 in Queensland and they had 6 children. They lived in the Sunshine Coast region of Queensland where Edward (Ted) was known as a rugged Timber-getter. Mary passed away on 16 Feb 1917 following which Edward remarried to Minnie Ella Rabjohns on 3 Jul 1923.
