Captain SH Ayliffe 9th Light Horse. The Department for Land Settlement had purchase 36 acres at Edwardstown. Half is under almonds and there are some vines. Mr Ayliffe had only just made a start with Mr LW Dawson also of the 9th Light Horse as trainee, and another man, but was already finding the place too big in 1920. This place had been badly neglected the trees being old and uncultivated and the whole place overgrown with grass. The Department had many such place all around Adelaide and they were gradually being worked back to production.
