Private H. Bettany is recorded in the Nominal Roll, (Murray p. 504) as having enrolled in South Africa. He may be the same Private Harry Bettany S.N. 285, 4th Queensland Imperial Bushmen contingent already in South Africa and prior to the 4th returning home he enrolled with the 5th.
