Charles Henry Bowes was born about 1877 in New South Wales. He served in The South African (Boer) War and WW1. First service was as a Private S.N. 249 in the 4th Queensland Imperial Bushmen, Boer War. Second service was as a Private S.N. 480 in the 2nd Light Horse Regiment AIF, WW1.
