Biography contributed by John Edwards

Originally from Ballina, NSW, Alfred served as 456 Trooper with the New South Wales Citizens' Bushmen during the Boer War and was apparently poised to re-enlist for service in WW1 when struck down with influenza and pneumonia. He was removed from his home at Meckering W.A. to the Northam General Hospital where he later died.
