"3801 Acting Sergeant Frederick Harrison Capper, 9th Reinforcements, 22nd Battalion, of Preston, Vic. A/Sgt Capper enlisted on 16 July 1915 and embarked aboard HMAT Warilda in Melbourne on 8 February 1916. Quarter Master Sergeant Capper returned to Australia aboard HMT Ajana on 17 October 1916... He (also) served as a saddler (number 1690) with the 5th Victorian (Mounted Rifles) Contingent for eighteen months during the Boer War in South Africa." - SOURCE (www.awm.gov.au)
