Aubrey De Pree Crichton enlisted in April 1900 and embarked for South Africa in May 1900 as a Lieutenant in the 4th Queensland Imperial Bushmen. When he returned to Australia and was discharged in August 1901 he was a Lieutenant with the 6th Queensland Imperial Bushmen.
