Boer War Veteran
After attending a party at his home at Wangoom, Warrnambool, on Thursday night, Cr. Richard Crothers died early yesterday morning, at the age of 70 years. He was a member of the old Mounted Rifles, under Colonel Tom Price, and served in the Boer war. He took up dairying at Wangoom in 1902. For the past four years he was a member of the South riding of the Warrnambool shire council. He was a keen field coursing and football enthusiast, and was on the committee of the Warrnambool Agricultural Society for many years. He leaves a widow and grown-up family.
