Hugh Addison Fisher was born in 1873 in the Traralgon district in Victoria to Hugh Addison Fisher and Jane Fisher nee Gallaeher. Its not know why he was in Queensland when he enlisted in the 3rd Queensland Contingent for the South African (Boer) War.
Upon returning to Australia and following his discharge he returned to live in Yarragon, Victoria. He married Elsie Christina Brown in 1908 and they had two children prior to his untimely passing in 1916.
