George Essex Jauncey was born George Essex James de Leyham Jauncey in 1879 in England, a son to William de Leyham Jauncey and Alice Jane Jauncey (nee Hammersley). He married Katherine Sarah Rigby on 30 Mar 1913 in Queensland and they lived in the Toowoomba region.
