News was received on Saturday of the death of Mr. George Jessop, on Thursday night, at Richmond, after 24 hours' illness. The deceased who had charge of a property in the Richmond district, was well known in the Dalby district and in the West generally. He was a son of the late Mr. J.S. Jessop, of Dalby, and a brother of Mr. S.C.O. Jessop, one time land ranger in Dalby and now of Blackall, and saw service in the Boer war. He was decleared to be unfit for the present war on account of an injury to his leg. He was unmarried.
