A keen sense of bereavement was expressed on Tuesday when it became known that Daniel, the eldest son of Mr and Mrs. M.F. Meagher, of Chancer Street, had passed away at the early age of 38 years, after a severe illness extending over a period of seven months. The deceased was a well-known and highly respected resident of the town. He served with distinction in the Boer war of 1900, and his chief lament during the severe illness which preceded his death was his inability to offer his services to the Commonwealth Government in connection with the Expeditionary Force. The deceased was a brtoher of Mrs. J.J. Fitzgerald and Miss Cassie Meagher, of Willaura, for whom, with the other members of the family, the utmost sympathy is expressed.
