Walter Lewis Nichols was born in the Lismore district of New South Wales in 1879, a sone to George Nichols and Esther Nichols (nee Lewis). Prior to his death at Gympie Qld in 1906 he had been involved in a bakery business with two of his brothers in Ballina NSW.
