George Nicholson served in both the South African (Boer) War and WW1. First service was as a Private S.N. 74 in the 3rd Queensland Mounted Infantry, Boer War. Second service was as a Corporal S.N. 542 in the 1st Divisional Train, AIF WW1.
He was born in Maidstone, Victoria in 1877, a son to Donald and Ann Nicholson. In 1900 when he enlisted for the Boer War he was living/workin at Glengallon Station via Allora in Qld. In 1914 when he enlisted in WW1 he was working as a miner in NSW.
