William Chamney NOBLET was born on 3rd August, 1877 in Belalie near Jamestown, South Australia

His parents were John NOBLET (born Glenealgy, Wicklow, Ireland) & Mary Maria BROWN (born Bristol, Gloucester, England)

He enlisted on 29th January 1901 with the 5th South Australian Imperial Bushmen who embarked on 9th February 1901 on the ship Medic - they returned to Australia in April, 1902 & arrived in Albany, Western Australia on the ship Manchester Merchant to proceed to Adelaide. (C Squadron, 2nd Troop)

He had served for 1 years & 3 months with the Imperial Light Horse in South Africa

He married Lucy Maddever LANG on 10th April, 1912 in St Pauls Church , Adelaide - 3 known children, Edna Ellen, Reginald William & Geffery.

William re-enlisted for WW1 on 2nd November, 1918 in Adelaide - he was listed as a Boiler Attendant and living in Parkside, SA.

He did not proceed overseas in WW1 due to cessation of hostilities and was discharged on 24th December, 1918

William was living in Millswood Estate  SA before he died on 31st January 1955 in Adelaide - he is buried in Centennial Park Cemetery
