William Price served twice in the South African (Boer) War, first as a Private S.N. 146 in the 3rd Queensland Mounted Infantry and second as a Private S.N. 250 in the 7th Battalion, Australian Commonwealth Horse. (source AWM Boer War Nominal roll p. 470 & 536, and National Archives Australia Boer War Dossier 2nd service).
