Albert Edward Reading was born on 16 Aug 1879 in Queensland, a son to Alfred Charles Reading and Sarah Ann Reading (nee Wray). When he enlisted in 1901 in the 6th QIB he noted his N.O.K. as his mother Mrs. S. A. Reading at Bulimba, Brisbane. He married Violet May Coombs on 4 Sep 1933 and they were living at Mayne, Brisbane, when he passed away.
